Fishing from rafts in a remote and otherwise inaccessible section of the upper Brahmaputra
11 night/12 day holiday, fishing for Mahseer from rafts
We head to the upper reaches of the Brahmapura River in Arunachal Pradesh, India, for a exciting trip that combines adventurous rafting with great fishing.
We spend 7 nights camping-out as we float down some otherwise inaccessible beats on the river. Fishing will be the priority but you can be sure to have some white-water fun as the trip unfurls.
Good-sized Mahseer are regularly caught on this section and there are reports of big Goonch for those more interested in catfishing.
This is a remote area requiring special permission to enter, but you can expect to be rewarded by an unforgettable experience.
Please note: This fishing holiday starts and ends in Dibrugarh (Airport Code, DIB) the nearest to the rafting. Through our agents in India we can provide you with all the assistance you need to get there from your international portal, including any domestic flights, trains, transfers or accommodation.
If you would like to extend your holiday with other services in India then we can provide a free quotation on request.

We expect the best fishing to be concentrated around the confluences with the Yambo and Siyom Rivers.
Both Golden and Chocolate Mahseer are found in this section of the river. Fish to 12 Kg were caught by anglers last year.
You may want to leave a line out at night and try for a Goonch. These mighty catfish are certainly present in the river but require much patience.
